1. Share Credentials The Safe Way

Companies sometimes need shared credentials. You need to access a customer's testing system, log in to a sample cloud instance or exchange work in progress from developer accounts. These systems are password protected and normally you have a shared document, a Wiki or a mailing list. It has never been a good idea to share passwords this way. Once you saved the credentials access is unlimited. More…

  2. Linux is an Alternative

That's a pure hypothesis and includes Scientism (Asimov). Linux is not a clearly bounded object. First step of every scientific inquisition of Linux users is to ask, which distribution they use or more formal: who is your god? One could dive even deeper and is absolutely right when saying a distribution is not Linux but uses Linux. Some are real priests of open source software and were put together from patches of kernel code. More…

  4. Today's Software Bloat Part 1 – Hardware Abstraction

I started coding software in 1993. It was QBasic on a KC85/3, top computer platform of GDR and available at my school. 6. StVO not valid anymore

Sovereign Citizen/ Freeman/ Reichsbürger know for sure that laws don't apply anymore. They are invalid for a special reason they found out and need to tell you. While I was cycling along a street one of these guys took my right of way. We met again at the next traffic light and he started a discussion German traffic law Straßenverkehrsordnung (StVO, lit. street traffic law) is not valid anymore. I looked up his arguments afterwards and found out he mixed up StVO and StVZO. The latter was a regulation how cars in general are to be applied to public streets in general. This includes technical guidelines as well as license plates or insurance. Not yet translated. More…

  7. Solar Charger Constant Voltage PPT

I decided to charge some of my Li-Ion-batteries with a solar panel. With 50Wh maximum capacity and a super idealistic charging time of 2h a panel of 20W is the absolute minimum. During winter only 10% of this power is left, thus 2W of charging power in average (less hours of sunshine and lower angle). It'll need >2 days to charge the battery. But for a first test run it is sufficient. The specs summed up: More…
